Having failed to score a single Premier League goal all season, Karim Benzema was apparently left on the bench for Crystal Palace's crucial London derby clash against Arsenal. We were unaware that he had ever signed for the south London club, but hey...shows what we know.
In case you missed it, here was the original #cpfc tweet. With Benzema on the bench pic.twitter.com/LXsEAOk0Qk

The France international, who was also recently told he would be left out of the European Championship squad, apparently angered Palace officials by choosing to play for Real Madrid the day before against Getafe. Benzema scored one and assisted two as Los Blancos stormed to a 5-1 victory.
Due to his commitment to Real Madrid, Benzema has yet to make a single appearance in the Premier League, which has left Palace wondering why they signed him in the first place. Well, probably because they didn't.
Of course, we're being satirical. Karim Benzema has never, will never (probably), and does not currently play for Crystal Palace. However, that didn't stop the club from tweeting out a lineup graphic featuring the French striker on their subs bench, in place of Emmanuel Adebayor. How they made that mistake is anybody's guess. The tweet was quickly removed, but by then, it was far too late.
The idea of Karim Benzema at Palace is obviously ridiculous, but then again, that's what we said about Yohan Cabaye. We suppose anything is possible. Make it happen Super Alan Pardew.
