Chicharito and Marco Fabian Face Off In A "Mexican Skype Duel"

Childhood friends Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Marco Fabian had a so-called Mexican Skype Duel, courtesy of the Bundesliga's official YouTube account. Hernandez and Fabian grew up in the Chivas Guadalajara youth system together, and have been reunited this season in the Bundesliga, at Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

Despite the distance that has separated the pair since Hernandez left for Manchester United in 2010, it doesn't seem as if a moment has passed for the two friends. Indeed, their interactions betray the 10-year-old kid in each of them, as they joke and laugh at the questions written on the cards. No moment really encapsulates this better than when Fabian asks Chicharito if he ever imagined that they would be in the Bundesliga one day, to which Chicharito's answer is frankly beautiful.

While they are clearly still close, their fortunes in the Bundesliga this season could not be more different. Chicharito is in the form of his life for Leverkusen, having scored 16 goals in 29 games in the league so far. Marco Fabian has found it more hard to adapt, with only two assists in 10 appearances. However, Chicharito has had much more experience in Europe than Fabian, and while Chicharito is surrounded by a cast of talented players at Leverkusen, the same cannot really be said of Fabian in the relegation-threatened Frankfurt side. Given a season to bed in, one would imagine that Fabian could improve immensely.

Whatever happens to Javier Hernandez and Marco Fabian in the future, it's clear that they'll remain close friends.
