Zenit St. Petersburg received a remarkable offer from Burger King to change the team's name to "Zenit Burger King".
Really.
Zenit have received a €6.8-million offer from @BurgerKing to change team's name to "Zenit Burger King".

As a name for a club, Burger King isn't great. At least teams with brand names like Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig flow a little bit. "Zenit Burger King" just sounds silly (which is why we would have been thrilled if this deal had actually been done).
But the deal wasn't done, and the club's response was very Russian.

Maybe Burger King could go after other clubs? How about Monarcas de Morelia? BURGER MONARCAS. Or look in the Bundesliga, where many teams look primed to add "Burger King" to their names. FC AugsBurger King? HamBurger King SV? VFL WolfsBurger King?
OK, we'll stop now.
