Brazuca's World Tour Concludes With A Costume Change

The official ball of World Cup 2014 has had an eye - or six - on the players we’ll be seeing in the upcoming tournament. Leading up to the start of the World Cup, Adidas and TBWA sent the ball to London, Munich, Madrid and more for exclusive interviews and videos of top players. Here's the trailer they released a few months ago:

Acting as a mascot for the games, the Brazuca has been personified across social media and advertising. By following @brazuca and the Brazuca YouTube channel, you could watch the ball travel through Spain, Germany, England, Russia, Japan, the USA, and Mexico, previewing the players and teams from its point of view. Equipped with 6 cameras, the ball recorded a dizzying array of plays on the field.

And now the Brazuca is back home in Brazil in time for the World Cup to begin next week. With some fanfare, adidas announced last week via Twitter a "costume change" for the ball for the World Cup final. Instead of the orange, blue, green and black we've been seeing for months, the official ball for the Cup final will be a combination of green, gold and black inspired by the World Cup trophy. Check it out below:
