Arsenal Victory Over Middlesbrough Was No Easy Task

Before Arsenal vs. Middlesbrough, Arsene Wenger announced a formation change, which proved to be effective. Wenger chose to use a 3-4-3 formation, letting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain roam to an offensive position while playing right wing-back to try to create going forward.

In previous matches, Arsenal players have been jogging back into their final third while defending, but this was far from the case in this match. Arsenal finally showed signs of life, holding the ball the majority of the game.

Going into the second half, Arsenal led Middlesbrough by one goal to nil. Searching for a breakthrough moment, Middlesbrough entered the second half with the same intensity they carried throughout the first half of the game. A wonderful pass from Stewart Downing was placed right onto Alvaro Negrado's foot to score and equalize. With 40 minutes remaining class, skill and a bit of magic had to culminate to take a side to victory. This is exactly what Arsenal found in the 71st minute with an amazing team goal.

This goal reminded us of the goal Arsenal scored against Norwich City in 2013:

After this win, Arsenal should have much more drive and moment going into the final fixtures of the 2016/17 Premier League season. With restored confidence, the remaining games in Arsenal'wesomes calendar will be very exciting to watch as they give their best crack at a top four finish.
