Alphonso Davies Speed Record
The 19-year-old topped that on Tuesday, setting a Bundesliga record in the process.
Clocking in at 36.51 kph — 22.69 mph — during the first half against Werder Bremen, Davies set the mark for fastest sprint in the German top flight since that sort of stat was first recorded in 2013-14.

For a bit of comparison, Kylian Mbappé’s top recorded speed is 27.78 mph, so Davies isn’t quite the fastest man in football. Cristiano Ronaldo’s top speed is 21 mph, so Davies is certainly in good company.
Jamaican track star Usain Bolt, probably the fastest man of all time, has been clocked at 27.8 mph.

Unfortunately for Davies, it wasn’t a great day out on the pitch personally. Davies picked up a first-half yellow card for kicking out at Leonardo Bittencourt, a swing that honestly could’ve been shown red. In the 79th minute, Davies was shown a second yellow for a cynical foul on Niklas Moisander.
So Davies, a 19-year-old Canada international, picked up his first league title, first senior-level red card and set the Bundesliga land speed record all in one day. Not bad for a 19-year-old.
