Africa's Richest Man Wants To Buy Arsenal

If Arsenal is ever up for sale, they won't have to look far for a new owner. African businessman Aliko Dangote said if the club is ever on the market, he would buy it.

“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team,” he said. “I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy."

Dangote is still one of the richest men in Africa and tried to buy the team five years ago.

The club is currently owned by American businessman Stan Kroenke who owns the NFL's St. Louis Rams and the NBA's Denver Nuggets.

Kroenke doesn't look like he is in the market to sell the team anytime soon, but it sounds like if Dangote took control of his favorite team, one of the things he may change is who manages them.

Arsene Wenger has been with the team for awhile, but Dangote thinks Wenger needs to make some changes.

“He needs to change his style a bit. They need new direction.”

One thing is for certain, if Dangote does decide to buy Arsenal some day, he'll have to pay a pretty penny.

The Gunners are one of the most valuable teams in the Premier League. If Dangote was to buy the team, he would make history being the first African to own a Premier League team.
