FIFA’s culture, spearheaded by the chauvinistic Sepp Blatter and his old boys' network of archaic cronies, was exposed as inadequate and in need of an overhaul after being rocked by scandal after scandal over the past few years.

Leg 2 of the Champions League Round of 16 resumed today with AS Roma needing a big win in Madrid, while KAA Gent only trailed by 1 on aggregate. Andres Schurrle's goal for Wolfsburg was a dagger in the hearts of KAA Gent supporters. Schurrle's 75th minute goal put Wolfsburg up 1 - 0. They would advance on aggregate, 4 - 2.

Celta Vigo visited the Santiago Bernabeu near the top of the La Liga table, in sixth place and trailing Villarreal by 11 points in the race for a coveted Champions League spot.

When the 2nd half started, Ronaldo was a new man and scored 4 goals in 26 minutes. His second one was an absolute screamer from 30 yards out. Ronaldo moved into 2nd in the all time scoring chart for La Liga and also became the fastest player in Europe to score 350 goals for one club.

Harry Kane caught everyone off guard today with a wonderful goal from a near impossible angle. Hard work paid off for Tottenham as a battle in the corner allowed them to keep the play alive. When the ball emerged from the corner, Kane gathered it, took two dribbles towards the center of the pitch and with no one stepping to mark him, fired a powerful shot that beat Arsenal keeper, Petr Cech. Kane's goal in the 61st minute gave Tottenham the lead, only for them to lose it and draw 2-2 with Arsenal.
