Former Uruguay star Diego Forlán set to make his professional tennis debut

BERLIN — Former Uruguay soccer international Diego Forlán, who played for Manchester United and Atletico Madrid among others, will compete in doubles at the professional Uruguay Open tennis tournament in November, organizers said on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old former striker, a 2010 World Cup semi-finalist, has switched to tennis since his retirement in 2018, playing on the international senior tour.

Local USMNT fan makes business decision and goes to bed at halftime of USA vs. Mexico game

A local United States men’s national team fan got an incredible eight hours of sleep Tuesday night after deciding to turn off the USMNT vs. Mexico friendly at halftime. Mexico went on to win the game 2-0 but the fan didn’t see the ending of the game anyway.

“I knew I was in for a rough time when the game kicked off at 9:30 at night,” the fan living in the central time zone said. “I had no idea how boring it would be though.”
