Zlatan Ibrahimovic officially conquered America on Saturday, scoring twice in his debut with the LA Galaxy, including this worldie. Juraj Kucka one-upped Zlatan with a free kick goal of similar trajectory but longer range on Sunday. The Kucka goal against Galatasaray is an early frontrunner for the 2018 Puskas (who would have turned 91 on Monday) Award. 

From every angle, this Kucka goal is simply sensational and in a way hilarious. His team was down 2-0 in stoppage time and almost out of frustration whacked the ball as hard as he could after noticing the goalkeeper off his line. Here are a couple more replays:

Kucka went from on the ground following a foul to scoring one of the most absurd goals we’ve seen this year in about a second — and he needed to be quick to prevent his teammate from taking the free kick before he did. The accuracy is hard to believe, somehow hitting side netting from that range. 

Juraj Kucka is a Slovakian midfielder for Trabzonspor, which is currently fifth in the Turkish Super Lig. He won’t be mistake for the new mayor of Los Angeles anytime soon, but the 31-year-old has carved out a nice career for himself, including playing in three matches at the 2010 World Cup. 

Galatasaray still won the match 2-1 despite the Kucka goal, but it did ruin a clean sheet for Fernando Muslera, the Uruguay No. 1 goalkeeper. Muslera and La Celeste open the World Cup on June 15 against Egypt, so don’t be surprised if Mohamed Salah unleashes a 60-yard shot against Uruguay to outdo the Kucka goal vs. Galatasaray.
