After a sensational season with Nice last season, Hatem Ben Arfa earned his dream move to Paris Saint-Germain. That dream has since turned into a nightmare for the French dribbling wizard. His many brief cameos as a substitute in league play this season have resulted in none of the magic that typified his year with Nice.
Frustrated with a lack of playing time, Ben Arfa released a video through a Facebook fan page begging for a chance. “I am not asking for much, not game time or a specific role, I just want to be given my chance,” he said. “I want to feel that there is competition in this team. I am a competitor and I am a champion. In my head, I love to win.”
Ben Arfa was given a rare start against Avranches in the Coupe de France quarterfinals on Wednesday, and he opened the scoring with wonder goal.
He added a second in the 53rd-minute after Lucas Moura squared him up for an easy tap in. He’s definitely given Unai Emery something to think about.
