Was this the best women's soccer goal ever?
Playing for Cliftonville in Northern Ireland’s Women’s Premiership, Billie Simpson smacked the ever-loving snot out of the ball to score what might be the best women's soccer goal of the year, if not ever.
Not only did Simpson score from inside her own half, she struck a first-time volley straight off a 50-yard goal kick from Niamh Malley.

If this isn’t a Puskas Award nominee, we demand a recount.
It’s a shame there aren’t more angles of this goal, because we could watch it over and over again. Though we're not quite sure where Malley was.
For those who really care about the Danske Bank Women's Northern Ireland Football League — or even for those who just now learned such a league exists — Simpson’s strike helped Cliftonville secure a 2-2 draw with the Sion Swifts. The goal came moments after Sion took a 2-0 lead. Marissa Callaghan scored an 80th-minute equalizer. For those even more interested, Linfield currently leads the NIFL, eight points ahead of Cliftonville. The Reds need more goals like this from Simpson.
Simpson is a 26-year-old Northern Ireland international.
