The Yunus Musah goal vs Atlético Madrid on Saturday was the 19-year-old’s first LaLiga goal of the season and the second of his career. Musah was given the start against the Spanish giants and silenced the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano when he opened the scoring in the 25th minute.

Hugo Doro doubled the lead for Valencia in the 44th minute and at halftime the Atlético crowd sat stunned with their side down 2-0. Matheus Cunha cut the lead in half in the 64th minute, but time was running out for the Madrid side.
If you would have told an Atléti fan in the 88th minute that their team was going to win this game they would have had you checked out to make sure everything was ok. To the shock of everyone, two goals in the span of several minutes stole the victory from Musah and Valencia.

For the record, Musah was substituted out of the game in the 88th minute. The second he was taken out of the game Valencia collapsed. Bring out the Incredibles meme.
While Musah is probably disappointed in the result, USMNT fans will be happy that he has his scoring boots on right before the international break.
Musah was one of the 28 players called up for the USMNT’s next three World Cup qualifiers.
