University of North Texas goalkeeper Maddie Ogden scored an unforgettable first career goal on Thursday with a free kick from near midfield.
As the final seconds of the first half ticked away between UNT and UTSA, Ogden launched a ball into the box that got past everyone including the opposing goalkeeper.

Ogden had been working on her distribution over the past few years and it came to fruition in the form of her first career goal.
"It was exciting to get my first career goal, especially on a long ball since I've spent so much time over the years practicing my accuracy," Ogden said after the game.
Whatever she’s practiced is clearly working. In UNT’s previous game vs. Rice she got her first career assist. Back-to-back goal involvements from a goalkeeper in two games is unheard of.
We’ll keep an eye out in case the senior goalkeeper scores anymore goals this season. At this rate we shouldn’t doubt her.
