The Scottish Championship game between league leaders Heart of Midlothian and bottom-of-the-table Livingston witnessed perhaps the finest piece of foot-to-face athleticism you're likely to see outside of a WWE squared circle. Shortly before half time on Saturday afternoon, Livingston's captain Jason Talbot - leading by example - inexplicably decided to do this to the face of Hearts' midfielder Sam Nicholson:
According to Heart's manager Robbie Neilsen, Nicholson required several stitches for "three or four puncture marks" left on his face, adding: "It wasn't a great tackle." Well quite.
We would say that Talbot - who was only booked for his decapitation attempt - will likely learn from this incident and become a better person because of it, leaving any pretenses to a future professional wrestling career firmly off the football pitch. Except he did exactly the same thing to Dumbarton's Paul McGinn just last season:
