Trinity Rodman's profile continues to expand after the 19-year-old was added to the United States women's national team roster Monday for the upcoming SheBelieves Cup.
Rodman, a Washington Spirit forward who last week signed the most lucrative contract in NWSL history, was named as an injury replacement for defender Abby Dahlkemper. It is her first appearance with the USWNT.
Rodman's new three-year, $1.1 million deal with the Spirit includes a team option for a fourth season. The daughter of NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman had seven goals and seven assists to earn NWSL Rookie of the Year and U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year honors, while helping the Spirit to the NWSL title.
Rodman had been invited to training camp with the USWNT in advance of the SheBelieves Cup, but now she holds an official roster spot. She is one of two players who will be making their debut with the USWNT, along with Spirit teammate Aubrey Kingsbury, who is one of three goalkeepers.
The United States will play its first game of the SheBelieves Cup on Feb. 17 against the Czech Republic at Carson, Calif. The team also is set to face New Zealand on Feb. 20 at the home of MLS' Los Angeles Galaxy, before a Feb. 23 game at Frisco, Texas, against Iceland.
