Inter Miami and Lionel Messi traveled to Los Angeles to slay defending MLS champs LAFC 3-1 on Sunday for a remarkable victory. The celebrities came out in droves to witness a Miami and Messi masterclass.

Let me be completely open and honest with you. The moment that is getting the most media attention is a clip of Selena Gomez and Tyga reacting to LAFC goalkeeper John McCarthy denying a Messi chance in the first half.

Realistically this article should be about McCarthy’s great save and his name should be in the headline. The reality is that the people care about Messi and Miami. Here’s the save that made the people’s jaws drop.

Miami dominated in impressive fashion on Sunday as the former basement dwellers of the Eastern Conference showed up the reigning champions in their own backyard. Miami took the lead in the 14th minute with an impressive finish from Facundo Farías.

The next goal for Miami came in the 51st minute when the former Barcelona boys combined for a beautiful goal. Sergio Busquets found Messi who slipped in a ball for Jordi Alba who finished comfortably to double the lead.

Messi assisted the final goal for Miami. USMNT fans will give the evil eye to defender Aaron Long who had an embarrassing moment to help Messi and Leonardo Campana for the third goal.

The result makes Miami unbeaten in their last 11 games as they climb the MLS Eastern Conference ladder in hopes of a playoff spot. Messi and Co. sit eight points behind D.C. United and have two games in hand.

This Miami team is hungry and are eyeing up a playoff spot like it’s a Hot-n-Ready pizza from Little Caesars.
