What Ronaldinho can accomplish in a commercial, James Jeggo is capable of conjuring in the middle of a professional match. Channeling the great Dinho, Jeggo performed his own personal crossbar challenge while an Australian A-League game took place around him.
With the score level at 0-0 in the 61st minute, Jeggo smashed an unstoppable drive against the crossbar before receiving the ball again, this time making no mistake as he unleashed a venomous rip which found the back of the net. Spectacularly, all of this took place in the space of less than five seconds.
Jeggo is a 23-year-old Australian who plays as a central midfielder for Adelaide United in the A-League. He produced this stunner against Sydney FC in a match that finished 2-1 in favor of Jeggo’s side.
There’s no doubting the authenticity of these strikes. While Ronaldinho might've managed to strike the crossbar four consecutive times, Jeggo's consistency and persistence yielded a goal in an actual match. You've got to respect how unfaltering he is in his desire to hit the long ball.
While others might've elected to pass up an opportunity that had all too recently failed them, Jeggo knows that failure is not an option.
The Australian was named the 2014-15 A-League Young Footballer of the Year and he has a penchant for the spectacular.
