The 37-year-old veteran of 15 MLS seasons has 130 goals in league play, three behind fourth-place Jaime Moreno and four in back of Jeff Cunningham. Kamara, whose deal includes a club option for 2023, also has 47 career MLS assists.
"Kei is a highly experienced player in MLS whose offensive abilities will help us both on the pitch and in the locker room with our young group of players," CF Montreal sporting director Oliver Renard said. We're happy to welcome him to the club."
Kamara, who played in Finland last year, has been with eight different MLS clubs in his career. His most productive season came in 2015 when he scored 22 goals with eight assists for the Columbus Crew. He has also played for Minnesota United, Colorado Rapids, Vancouver Whitecaps, New England Revolution, Sporting Kansas City, Houston Dynamo and the San Jose Earthquakes.
