A top of the table clash in the Primeira Liga between first place Benfica and second place Porto went a long way toward deciding the title on Sunday. Thanks to Hector Herrera’s 90th-minute strike at the Estadio da Luz, Porto dramatically leapfrogged Benfica in the table, going two points clear with four matches remaining.
Needing only a draw at home to maintain its one-point lead at the top, Benfica was shocked by Herrera’s remarkable strike from the top of the box. This moment of magic from the Mexican international now has the club on track for its first league title since the 2012-13 campaign.

What a crazy month of football this is.#ILoveThisGamepic.twitter.com/IwKvq3Sxab— Joannes Pereira (@Joannes_7) April 15, 2018
The goal was Herrera’s third in 25 league matches this season (to go along with five assists), but the 27-year-old has certainly never scored a more important goal in his career than this one.
With remaining matches against Setubal (13th), Maritimo (5th), Feirense (18th) and Vitoria (9th), Porto is now the overwhelming favorite to capture the title.
