Arsenal defeated Hoffenheim 4-0 in the Women’s Champions League on Thursday to move up to second-place in Group C. The Gunners’ victory saw the first Tobin Heath Arsenal goal, along with scores from Vivianne Miedema, Leah Williamson and Kim Little.
Heath got her first Champions League start with Arsenal. She previously made an appearance as a substitute in Arsenal’s Champions League opener against Barcelona, where Heath picked up an assist.
On Thursday, Heath played for 74 minutes against Hoffenheim and scored moments before halftime to make the score 2-0. Heath’s goal came after some great play from the Gunners.

On top of scoring her first Arsenal goal, this was Heath’s first Champions League goal. She played in Europe’s prestigious competition during her time with Paris Saint-Germain in 2013/14 but never found the back of the net.

Six minutes into the second half, Hoffenheim goalkeeper Martina Tufekovic made a fantastic diving effort to deny sausage dog owner Nobbs. The joy was short-lived for Tufekovic as Ballon d’Or nominee Miedema was there to bundle the ball in for Arsenal’s third.

Williamson put the icing on the Gunner cake with a bullet header off a corner to secure the three points and bring the team’s goal differential back above water.
IT WAS BRILLIANT. IT WAS POWERFUL. IT WAS LEAH WILLIAMSON.
