FIFA is up to some nonsense this week. Like, even more nonsense than usual.
The two men overseeing FIFA's ethics committee investigations and sanctions have been let go, as well as all but two ethics committee members.
Per The Guardian:
The Swiss prosecutor Cornel Borbély, who has headed multiple ethics committee investigations in recent years – including into the former Fifa president Sepp Blatter – and Hans-Joachim Eckert, the former German judge who chaired the committee’s adjudicatory chamber, which decides on sanctions, said they had “hundreds of cases” ongoing that will now be stalled for years.
Those let go were also presumably responsible for investigating whether Gianni Infantino is actually a naked mole rat. I volunteer to take up the responsibility for furthering the investigation. Here are my findings thus far:
He's totally a naked mole rat.
