The Chelsea women entered the final match day of the Women’s Super League with a two point lead on Birmingham, but come day's end it was Liverpool who finished atop the table.
The hero was Toni Duggan, a Liverpool native who scored the deciding goal en route to a Manchester City 2-1 victory over Chelsea. Duggan controlled a cross beautifully off of her chest before blasting a volley into the far side of the net.
Birmingham only got one point out of their match against Notts County, which propelled Liverpool to first place after their 3-0 win over Bristol Academy. We think the lady reds owe the native Merseysider a gift.
