Precocious 17-year-old American Christian Pulisic scored his first-ever first-team goal for Borussia Dortmund Sunday in a 3-0 win against Hamburg. This is a big deal, but just how bit a deal it is remains to be seen.

As far as "A star is born"'s go, we'd rank this one behind the Jay Z song that introduced the world to J Cole and behind the 1954 Judy Garland movie about entering showbiz, but ahead of the yet-unreleased remake of the Garland movie (which was itself a remake) and this song from the Hercules Disney movie.
We can't pretend to know to what heights Pulisic's career will take him. Neither can you. No one can. The one conclusion we can draw from Pulisic's goal this weekend (and, really, Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel's admission that Pulisic is considered a "fully-fledged member of the first team" is a bigger deal) is this young man's career will be extraordinarily fun to follow.
He could be the next Landon Donovan. He could be the next Freddy Adu. He could end up playing five-a-side on the weekends while working some job he hates because his career spectacularly flamed out. He could end up something we've never seen before.
The possibilities are endless, but until his career actually takes some sort of shape, we will be left with nothing to do but irresponsibly speculate. And it will be so much fun.
