Looking for a new ball after this hellish cold snap eventually gives way to springtime? Look no further because both Nike (2020-21 Premier League) and adidas (2021 Champions League Final) have released new balls celebrating the business end of their respective competitions.
To celebrate the final third of the 2020-21 Premier League, Nike has released its third ball of the campaign. As darkness gives way to light and frost yields to regrowth, so to is the Premier League’s yellow Hi-Viz ball giving way to the latest Nike Flight creation.
We’re always fans of Nike’s circular design look, and the ball pays homage to the season's conclusion on May 23 with the Premier League trophy featuring heavily. It doesn’t include Manchester City’s logo superimposed over it, but nobody could blame Nike if they took that decision already.
Over in continental competition, adidas has launched the Finale Istanbul 21 match ball, which will be used for the remainder of the 2020-21 Champions League. The final will be played at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, but the panels on the ball pay tribute to the 20-year anniversary of the “star-ball” by featuring every design from the last 20 Champions League finals.
