The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is the forgotten child of the soccer world. The only time fans really hear about the OFC is when it sends New Zealand to a World Cup qualifying playoff that it loses nine times out of ten, or the Oceania team that gets sent to the Confederations Cup.
Anyone else remember when poor Tahiti was forced to play Spain, Uruguay and Nigeria at the 2013 Confederations Cup? It takes a special team to finish with a -23 goal differential after three games.
Needless to say, Oceania doesn’t receive too much attention. That’s what makes this superb volley scored in the Solomon Islands’ league even more special. Check out this wondergoal from Joachim Waroi.
What. A. Strike.

You don’t hit volleys any cleaner than that.
The stadium this game was played at is almost as nice as Waroi’s volley. Lawson Tama Stadium is one of the iconic stadiums of Oceania and is officially on my bucket list of stadiums I’d like to visit.
Imagine having this view on the hill while watching that volley.
