The Raheem Sterling free kick vs Leicester City from Chelsea’s 4-2 FA Cup quarterfinal victory went viral due to how awful it was. We’re not exaggerating when we say this could be the worst free kick of all time.
In the 75th minute with the game tied at 2-2, Sterling was presented with a free kick just outside of the Foxes’ box. A major opportunity for the Blues.
Getting the ball up and over the wall but still on target isn’t easy from that close, but Sterling was prepared. He confidently stepped up, smashed the ball and then probably knocked someone out in the 25th row.
His free kick gets worse from every angle.

The Blues were full of errors on Sunday with Axel Disasi scoring a ridiculous own goal.

The craziest thing is that all the jokes on social media were about Sterling’s free kick and not Disasi’s disastrous own goal. Do you know how bad of a shot you must have for an own goal like Disasi’s to be swept under the rug?
That was the case as all the banter was about Sterling.

Chelsea still managed to secure a victory and book a spot in the FA Cup semifinal where they will face powerhouse Manchester City.
Manchester United and Coventry City will play in the other semifinal courtesy of a dramatic Haji Wright goal.
The FA Cup semifinal games will be played on April 20.
