At 43 years old most people aren’t playing professional soccer. At any age, most people aren’t stopping this goal. But at the ripe age of 43, Gianluigi Buffon, like aged wine, shows he can still move around with this incredible save against Sassuolo.
The 2017 Italian Footballer of the year winner showed his vintage self with an amazing save in a friendly match against Sassuolo on Sunday.

A great cross came in from the right side and went right past a Parma defender to set up an open one-timer for Sassuolo. That’s when you see the Buffon blur superman dive across and block the incoming shot. The pure class and athleticism shown from the 43-year-old would leave almost any other goalkeeper lost. Juventus might be getting jealous and could look for a transfer back.
Let’s see if Buffon can keep up his heroics in front of the goal at age 44. With Buffon playing at this level at such an old age and his extensive successful history, should he be considered the goalkeeping G.O.A.T.?
