Spanish club Málaga went off the deep end a while ago. In 2013 the club was playing in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Last season they were relegated from the second division of Spain.
You can’t blame the fans for not having much optimism when the is club dying out, hemorrhaging money and set to play in the third tier for the first time since 1998.
The good news is that the supporters haven’t lost their sense of humor. In the 2023 summer transfer window Málaga didn’t make any notable signings. No big names, no up-and-coming youngsters and nothing to get the fans excited.
The fans took it upon themselves to create their own excitement.
A group of Málaga supporters headed to the airport and pretended that random travelers will be their club’s new big name player.
This is hilarious.

Behold! The new No. 10 for Málaga…. CHAQUETA! (Jacket)
The random traveler clearly had no idea what was happening but was still a good sport about it.
I like to imagine the phone call with his significant other later that day.
“How did the traveling go?”
“Honey, I need to tell you something… I’ve signed for Málaga.”
