The United States women’s national team completed a sweep of their Olympic group stage on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory vs. Australia. One moment fans noticed was an Emily Fox Korbin Albert exchange, or lack thereof we should say.
In the 65th minute of the Australia game head coach Emma Hayes made a triple substitution with Trinity Rodman, Rose Lavelle and Fox coming off for Lynn Williams, Casey Krueger and Albert.
A portion of USWNT fans believe that when Fox came out, she avoided any exchanges with Albert.

In our opinion to conclude that Fox purposely chose a path to avoid Albert is a bit of a stretch. The moment happens so quickly that Fox likely was focused on Hayes and then headed to the bench.
Still, some of the USWNT fanbase were delighted to see no pleasantries exchanged between the two players.

Let's cheer ourselves up watching Emily Fox (from America) snub a homophobe https://t.co/Uu9Zd67ggS

Albert and USWNT fans have been at odds with each other since it was discovered in March she was reposting and liking anti-LGBTQ+ content on social media. She was also caught liking a post joking about the career-ending injury to Megan Rapinoe.
The 20-year-old apologized for the incident and head coach Hayes has asked fans to embrace the young player.
Albert went on to score an incredible goal to extend the USWNT’s lead to 2-0 with her teammates hugging her after the strike.
LET IT RIP, KORBS!!!

The USWNT will be back in action on Saturday with a quarterfinal clash with Japan. Albert could get her first Olympic start as defensive midfielder Sam Coffey is unavailable due to yellow card accumulation.
