Christian Pulisic had his best club season of his career with AC Milan in the previous campaign. A Pulisic goal vs Parma on Saturday during Milan’s 2-1 defeat showed that he looks poised for another fruitful year of goals.
Let’s start with the good news and Pulisic’s goal.
The USMNT forward equalized in the second half for Milan with one of the easier goals of his life. Rafael Leão did the hard work to get the ball deep into Parma’s box. Pulisic then made the right run at the right time to be wide open for a tap in.

The goal marks 10-straight seasons with a league goal for Pulisic. He’s the first American to achieve that feat in the top five European leagues.
The American had a decent performance on Saturday as he was shifted back to right wing. New AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca experimented with using Pulisic as a central attacking midfielder in Milan’s previous game, however he was more effective out wide.
Pulisic had another opportunity to score early in the second half with a powerful volley that forced a save from Parma’s goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. The Parma keeper was born in New Jersey but represents Japan.
One issue Pulisic did have during Saturday’s game was crossing. The American attempted 13 crosses into Parma’s danger area and only managed to find a fellow Milan player twice.
USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah also started Saturday’s game but didn’t have a memorable performance and was hooked for Youssouf Fofana in the 67th minute.
Milan are now winless through their first two games of the season with the loss to newly promoted Parma being a brutal blow.
Parma played a great game and were the better side for most of the first half. In the second half they sat deep to defend their lead and were dangerous on the counter attacks.
