At the end of January, adidas launched their awesome new “There Will Be Haters” campaign featuring a commercial with Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema. The videos have been masterfully created, and they all revolve around the fact that, of course, “there will be haters” out there who try to bring you down. But the one player who had yet to be featured in the campaign is the world's best player. Ahead of this weekend's El Clasico bout, Lionel Messi has finally made an appearance in the TWBH campaign.
Showing off his new Pibe de Barr10 boot, the ad follows the format of previous advertisements in the "There Will Be Haters" campaign, with a voice in the background stating all the criticisms that Messi has heard throughout his life. Building on Messi's youth in the small town of Rosario, Argentina, the ad say things like, “You’ll never leave your little home town. You’ll never make it overseas, definitely not in first class. You’ll never score with your head. Or your right foot.” All of these things culminate to one thing.
"Shhhhhh."
