Cuauhtemoc Blanco is now in charge of Cuernavaca, Mexico. The 42-year-old former Club America and El Tri superstar retired from soccer earlier this year to pursue a position as mayor of Cuernavaca, his adopted home town.
Blanco posted two tweets that seemed to confirm that he won the election. Various Spanish-language news outlets have posted articles to the same effect.
