Opinion: Having a hot USMNT head coach (Hervé Renard) will boost interest in national team

Yeah, you read the headline. Someone posted on social media that Hervé Renard taking over as United States men’s national team head coach would draw more interest to the team due to how objectively attractive he is. They’re probably right.

We can go on and on about Renard’s accolades leading Zambia and Ivory Coast to Africa Cup of Nations titles, but we’ve had those discussions already.

American Outlaws and USMNT supporter groups publicly call for Gregg Berhalter’s firing

The American Outlaws Gregg Berhalter statement released on Wednesday illustrated the United States men’s national team head coach’s loss of support from fans and media.

Several U.S. Soccer supporters’ groups have publicly called for a head coaching change. Barra 76 were one of the first groups to release a statement on Tuesday.

“We believe replacing Gregg Berhalter as head coach of the USMNT is essential to revitalizing our national team’s strategy and achieving the results our players and supporters deserve,” Barra 76 said.

USMNT favorites to beat Uruguay, sports books say

The U.S men’s national team could have a better chance of beating Uruguay on Monday than most people believe… at least that’s what sports books say.

The USMNT will go into the last match day of the 2024 Copa América looking to get a huge win against none other than Uruguay — one of the tournament’s top contenders and best in-form national teams so far in the group stage.

Tim Weah needs to be excluded from every USMNT roster for the rest of 2024

The Tim Weah red card vs Panama in the 18th minute proved too much for Gregg Berhalter’s U.S. side in a stunning 2-1 upset that throws the USMNT’s Copa América campaign in jeopardy.

This loss is 100% on Weah’s shoulders.

In the 18th minute the Juventus player idiotically swung on Panama’s Roderick Miller off the ball. A VAR review saw Weah sent to the locker room and screw over his entire team.

Edson Álvarez exits Mexico’s Copa América opener with injury — fans debate if field was to blame

Mexico’s Copa América tournament got off to a nightmare start as star midfielder Edson Álvarez exited the first half in tears as he pulled up with an injury.

Midway through the first half Álvarez was tracking back to help defend a Jamaica counterattack when he went down grabbing the back of his leg. There was no contact with any other players.

Pathetic Messi fans send racist comments to Canada’s Moïse Bombito over his tackle on Messi

Racism is still the biggest plague of the “Beautiful Game”, and it reared its ugly head on Thursday as Argentina and Lionel Messi fans racially abused Canada’s Moïse Bombito on social media.

Fans weren’t happy about the tackle on Messi from the Colorado Rapids star during the Copa América opener between Canada and Argentina. During the second half Messi went down and received treatment following this tackle from the Canada defender.

Carli Lloyd says Christian Pulisic is a contender to take Messi’s world soccer crown

Carli Lloyd just put Maradona, Messi and Pulisic in the same sentence.

U.S. women’s national team legend Lloyd is one of many former soccer stars invited to be a part of FOX Sports' live studio broadcasts in their coverage for the Euro and Copa America this summer. USMNT icons Alexi Lalas, Clint Dempsey, and Maurice Edu are also part of the panel.

Watch: Daniel Sturridge is all of us having to listen to Alexi Lalas talk on FOX

The Daniel Sturridge Alexi Lalas clip from FOX’s coverage of England vs. Denmark is absolute gold.

Sturridge is part of FOX’s coverage of Euro 2024, and you actually see the regret in his eyes on TV as he’s forced to sit next to Lalas. If there’s one thing most American fans can agree on it’s that listening to Lalas for too long can drive a person insane.

We can’t decide which looked worse: Kylian Mbappé’s miss or Landon Donovan’s hair

France secured an unconvincing 1-0 victory vs. Austria on Monday and two moments really stood out. One was an unusual Kylian Mbappé miss and the other was an even more shocking Landon Donovan hair on air.

Monday’s game was Donovan and broadcast partner Ian Darke’s third game in charge of this Euros. Fans hardly, if at all, got to see the two men in the broadcast booth during the first games. They were on the screen on Monday and good goly Donovan’s hair was something.

FOX’s ‘Summer of Soccer’ begins with bass fishing instead of showing Switzerland vs. Hungary

FOX is broadcasting this summer’s European Championship and Copa América, bragging about showing the “Summer of Soccer.” Too bad they didn’t show literally the second game of the Euros.

American fans woke up Saturday morning expecting to tune into Group A’s second match between Switzerland and Hungary. Little did fans realize that the game was streaming exclusively on Fubo.

That’s right. FOX decided there just wasn’t any room on Fox, Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2 to show the SECOND GAME OF THE EUROS.
