The home side dominated possession but the match-winner arrived in the 85th minute in spectacular fashion courtesy of Lobos attacker Amaury Escoto.

Liga MX Postponed This Weekend After Earthquake Hit Mexico City And Surrounding Areas

Liga MX matches scheduled for this weekend (the Superclásico between América and Guadalajara included), have now officially been postponed.

Earlier this week, the Copa MX Round of 16 matches were also postponed as a precautionary measure.

Rafa Márquez Returns To Atlas After Drug Trafficking Accusations

Rafa Márquez has rejoined Atlas after a month’s separation. Early in August, Márquez’s name was featured on a Specially Designated Nationals list by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. 

In that report, Márquez was accused of using several of his businesses as fronts for a drug trafficking organization lead by Raúl Flores Fernández.

Massive Earthquake In Mexico City, Club America vs. Cruz Azul Postponed

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake shook Mexico City Tuesday. Reports of several collapsed buildings around the city have been confirmed by the authorities, and the Copa MX Round of 16 match between Club América and Cruz Azul scheduled for Tuesday night at the Estadio Azteca was postponed.

17-year-old Mexican Diego Lainez Could Be More Expensive Than Chicharito And Christian Pulisic

In recent days a (wild) rumor has spread saying Club América’s jewel, 17-year-old Diego Lainez, could be sold for the staggering amount of $35-41.8 million in 2018. TV Azteca reporter Omar Zerón recently tweeted that several European teams are looking to sign the young player in order to develop him and turn the left-footed Mexican into a star.
