Liverpool are on to the Europa League quarterfinals, but it wasn't always a for sure thing when Manchester United scored from the spot to make it 2 - 1 on aggregate. With Manchester United up 1 - 0 and looking for a second to tie on aggregate, Liverpool's Coutinho scored a world class goal that took a great deal of skill. The Brazilian midfielder took the ball just inside the attacking third of the pitch, took on United right back Guillermo Varela, beat him in one move and chipped David de Gea from a extremely tough angle.

Leicester City continue their Premier League dominance with a 1 - 0 win over Newcastle United. There was a lot of anticipation for this match up as this was Rafa Benitez's first match as manager for Newcastle. Unfortunately it did not go his way as Shinji Okazaki scored a wonderful bicycle kick to take a 1 - 0 lead in the 25th minute. The victory put Leicester City 5 points clear of 2nd place Tottenham. With Portsmouth already holding a 2 - 0 lead, Michael Doyle put the cherry on top with an incredible volley. Battling against Accrington Stanley, the former Leeds and Sheffield United midfielder latched on to a cleared set piece and hammered it home from 35 yards out. The 43rd minute goal put Portsmouth up 3 - 0 going into halftime and would go on to win 3 - 1.

Harry Kane caught everyone off guard today with a wonderful goal from a near impossible angle. Hard work paid off for Tottenham as a battle in the corner allowed them to keep the play alive. When the ball emerged from the corner, Kane gathered it, took two dribbles towards the center of the pitch and with no one stepping to mark him, fired a powerful shot that beat Arsenal keeper, Petr Cech. Kane's goal in the 61st minute gave Tottenham the lead, only for them to lose it and draw 2-2 with Arsenal. 

Leicester City continue to play quality, no frills football and the individual effort of Riyad Mahrez helped the squad to a controlling victory over Manchester City. The creative brilliance of the Algerian winger was on display the entire match. Mahrez has embraced the center stage as the squad remain on course to an EPL title.

Jamie. Vardy. Those two words have taken over this 2015 - 2016 English Premier League season. While his name was in numerous transfer rumors to some of the top clubs, Leicester City decided to keep their beloved striker and are expecting to sign him for the long run. The first place club faced Liverpool Tuesday night and in the 60th minute, Vardy unleashed a sensational volley from outside of the box. His league leading 17th goal was masterful as he volleyed a long ball off the bounce leaving Liverpool keeper, Simon Migonlet standing still.

Some say he was offsides, but no matter the call, Wayne Rooney scored a delightful goal today against Derby. While playing away in the 4th round of the FA Cup, Rooney beat the Derby keeper with a curling ball from the left corner of the box. With a lackluster first half of the season, Rooney is a changed man in 2016. He has six goals for the new year and has been making under pressure manager, LVG very happy. With Rooney's curling effort, Manchester United would go on to beat Derby 3 - 1.

What were you doing when you were 19? I wasn't doing much. I was probably was sitting around my house in college watching some stupid netflix show. But Dele Alli, now he's doing stuff. The English wonderkid for Tottenham scored an absolute beauty of a goal today. Remember that one Neymar goal? Yeah, I think this one is better.

In the third round of the FA Cup, two prominent Premier League teams duked it out for the right to move on. Son Hueng - min helped out the cause for Tottenham with a stunning strike in the 39th minute. With the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli on the bench, Son took full advantage of his start. It looked as if Son wouldn't have a good angle to strike the ball, however his powerful strike left Leicester goalie Kasper Schmeichel helpless.
