Frank Lampard made many trips to Old Trafford as a player in a long career with West Ham, Chelsea and Manchester City. Perhaps the greatest midfielder in the history of the Premier League returned once more to face Manchester United on Tuesday — not as a player, but a manager of Derby County.
Lampard faced off against his former coach at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho. Lampard went home with an unlikely win.
Twenty-year-old American midfielder Luca de la Torre — a native of San Diego, California — scored his first competitive goal for Fulham on Tuesday in the Cottagers' 3-1 win over Millwall in the League Cup. Not only did De La Torre bag Fulham’s second of the day, he also assisted Joe Bryan on the first and Cyrus Christie (#COYBIG) on the third.

It’s the headline you did not expect today: Patrice Evra once defecated in Gerard Pique’s shoes at Manchester United. The reason for it, however, is totally understandable.
According to Spanish daily sports paper Diario AS, Evra once waited months for a pair of boots from Nike that had the names of his kids and other details on them. When Evra finally received them, Pique went to the showers, made a small bonfire and burned them. Nice one, Pique.
Aston Villa was defeated 2-1 at Villa Park by Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but a 53rd minute strike by 23-year-old Scottish international John McGinn briefly offered hope to the Claret & Blue Army.
Although the defeat leaves Villa mired in 12th place in the Championship, the lasting memory of the day will almost certainly be this absurd left-footed volley from McGinn.
Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg did it. The Danish midfielder achieved the kind of hit that we all dream of — the one that’s smacked so clean that it doesn’t spin, it just arrows its way on a straight course into the corner. It’s the kind of pure strike that'll undoubtedly give way to someone commenting, “So what?! I do that every Sunday in my Men’s League!” and that’s because they have absolutely zero understanding of what’s just happened here.
Manchester City did not sweat a lot to destroy Fulham 3-0 on Saturday. It was an easy ride with the sunroof open for every fan at the Etihad stadium, as the team was leading 1-0 (Leroy Sané) by the second minute and bombing Fulham’s 18-yard box the rest of the game.
Manchester City had little trouble with Fulham on Saturday. The Citizens scored less than two minutes into each half and cruised to a 3-0 win. One enchanting piece of Bernardo Silva control summed up Manchester City’s dominance.
Leroy Sané, David Silva and Raheem Sterling all scored for Pep Guardiola’s side, but the team’s loveliest piece of play came from the diminutive Portuguese maestro.
