There are some things that just don’t die, like cockroaches and Kool & the Gang.
Something else that won’t die? Joe Cole’s soccer career.
Once one of England’s most skilled players, Cole has bounced around half-a-dozen clubs since leaving Chelsea on a free in 2010.
After playing at clubs like Lille and Coventry City, Cole landed where most people go to retire: Florida.
But instead of hanging up his boots, Cole is still kicking it.
He's playing for NASL side Tampa Bay and is scoring like never before.
The midfielder tallied nine goals last year. Before that, he had never scored more than eight goals in a season and hadn’t hit for more than five since the 2007-08 season with Chelsea.
On Thursday, playing white-hot FC Cincinnati, Cole scored his fifth goal of the season to help Tampa Bay to a 2-0 win.

The victory halted a seven-match winless streak for the Rowdies.
Thursday wasn’t a complete win for Tampa Bay, though. Because rain delayed the match, the postgame Kool and the Gang concert had to be canceled.
NOTE: Due to tonight's weather delay, the @KoolntheGngLIVE concert has been postponed. Stay tuned for more information at a later date. pic.twitter.com/1jp1o9C79I

Pyrrhic victory.
