We Thought Atletico Madrid vs. Bayern Munich Would Be Boring. We Were Wrong

Atletico Madrid vs. Bayern Munich was way better than the other UCL semi-final, with one ridiculous goal and a few ridiculous almost-goals.

I would like to begin this article by formally walking back every single thing I predicted for the Atletico Madrid vs. Bayern Munich Champions League semi-final this morning. I was wrong, and I am sorry. The game was not boring. It was exciting, and it featured one of the best solo goals, especially considering the stakes, you'll see all year.

If we didn't know better, we'd think Messi had snuck back into the Champions League for Atletico Madrid disguised as Saul. But that's impossible. Right?

And the internet cried out, and in its cry there were many "Better Call Saul" jokes, and they were all bad.

We also got a cameo apearance from early-career Frenando Torres, even though he didn't score. 

David Alaba provided Bayern Munich's best chance on the night, and what a goal that would have been.

Hopefuly the return leg at Allianz Arena is as good as this was.
