United States men’s national team defender Tim Ream found the back of the net for Fulham on Saturday vs. Manchester City. The unlikely hero for the Cottagers did so on a corner kick in exquisite fashion to level the game at 1-1.
Let’s set the scene.
Just two minutes prior to Ream’s goal, Erling Haaland had teed up Julián Álvarez for the game’s opening goal. The Etihad Stadium was rocking as their side took the lead.
Fulham needed something big. A moment of inspiration to get them back into the contest. Who better of a choice than the man looking for redemption, Ream.
He turns 36 in October and is itching for every minute he can get. He had to sit out last week after a BS red card.
Ready to make a statement, he did so with this brilliant equalizer in the 33rd minute.

This was just his second ever Premier League goal!
Look at the power and placement of that shot. If they don’t give him 99 finishing on the new EAFC 24 game, then they’re lying to themselves.
That strike goes up there with one of the best.
The fans inside the Etihad sat stunned. They had just received an unexpected ‘Ream job’ and the game was back level.
It was only fitting that the American defender would score ahead of his highly anticipated homecoming to St. Louis next week. The USMNT host Uzbekistan on Sept. 9 at CITYPARK and Ream will get the chance to play in his hometown.
Amazing stuff from the USMNT leader.
Some weird stuff happened in the second half of that Fulham-City game. A random Norwegian guy scored three times or something, but nothing as notable as the Ream masterclass in front of goal.
If you’ve made it this far in the article and haven’t realized this is all sarcasm, I feel you should know that it is. Have a pleasant Labor Day weekend and let’s watch that Ream goal one more time.
