Friday's game between Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach was filled with fouls, cards and injuries. Salomon Kalou led his team to victory by scoring three goals, continuing his fine form since leaving Chelsea.

Kalou scored his first goal of the season in the eighteenth minute off of a beautiful cross from Mitchell Weiser. Weiser perfectly placed the ball at Kalou’s head, where he successfully managed to nod the ball past goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Nico Elvedi’s attempt to clear the ball backfired after reflecting off teammate Jannik Vestergaard and falling right at Kalou’s feet. That made two goals for Hertha Berlin before the end of the first half.
Glachbach’s misfortune continued as Christopher Kramer received his second yellow card of the game. "A German Club” proceeded to compete with ten players.
Kalou came through again in the eighty-fourth minute with his third goal. Weiser found Kalou in box for the second time, allowing him to complete his hat trick.
