Paris Saint-Germain knocked off Monaco 2-0 in the Coupe de France final to claim its second trophy this season. Kylian Mbappé was the star of the show, recording a goal, an assist, showcasing flashy skill moves and being responsible for breaking commentator Ray Hudson.
It was clear from the jump that the French Cup final was going to be special with a remote-controlled car delivering the game ball.

Not quite as cool as that one guy who delivered the game ball on a drone, but the RC car is a close second.
The scoring got under way in the 19th minute after Mbappé picked the pocket of Axel Disasi to set up Mauro Icardi for a simple tap-in. This was only the beginning of the Mbappé show.

Players with the confidence and skill of Mbappé are what makes this sport so entertaining. Exhibit A:

Mbappé pranced and danced around Monaco players, but the game remained hotly contested with both sides seeing great opportunities. Monaco had several chances to level the game but couldn’t capitalize. PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas was nearly caught out in the 69th minute but was bailed out by his own crossbar.

As the game waned into the closing stages, Mbappé attempted an absurd shot from 35 yards out. He must have been watching Edinson Cavani highlights from the day before. The shot was inches from dropping under the crossbar and left Hudson speechless.

The star Frenchman wouldn’t be denied his goal. Minutes later he scored a chip shot from much closer range to put the nail in the coffin for PSG.

The Parisian club lifted its sixth French Cup in the last seven years.
The only item left on the agenda for PSG this season is to snatch Ligue 1 away from Lille on Sunday. A victory against Brest companied with a Lille loss or draw to Nice will see PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino win his first ever league title. For PSG it would be the eighth league title in the past nine seasons.
