Inter Miami will travel to Saudi Arabia in February for one last Messi vs. Ronaldo game

UPDATE: Inter Miami have released a statement that the reports of the club's participation in the Riyadh Season Cup is inaccurate.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will face off for one last time in a game dubbed “The Last Dance” as Inter Miami will travel to Saudi Arabia to play Al Nassr and Al Hilal in the first week of February.

The games are part of the Riyadh Season Cup which is an annual friendly. The 2023 edition saw Messi and Ronaldo face off when a combination of Al Nassr and Al Hilal players hosted Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter Miami vs Al Nassr 2024

Messi, 36, and Ronaldo, 38, are in the twilights of their careers. The game between Inter Miami and Al Nassr will more than likely be the final meeting between the two.

Inter Miami will have the odds stacked against them as the squad will be in preseason mode while Al Nassr will be right in the middle of their club season.

Messi and Ronaldo have faced off 36 times in their careers with the Argentine winning 16 of the matchups, Ronaldo claiming 11 and the pair drawing nine times.

It’s a shame that Neymar is recovering from an ACL injury and won’t be available for Al Hilal in the Riyadh Season Cup. Imagine if fans got to watch Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar all face off one last time.

At the end of the day the friendly games in February are just one giant money grab as fans will just want to see Messi and Ronaldo play each other one last time. That being said, we’re all still going to watch.

Details on who will be broadcasting the games along with kickoff times have yet to be announced.
