Yes, we’re doing the third place game. No, I don’t know why.

Heroes and Villains of the World Cup: Matchday 24
Hero: Thomas Meunier (Belgium)
The Red Devils really missed Meunier in the semis. Nacer Chadli wasn’t effective from the right wing back position against France, but the two combined today with Chadli restored to his natural position and Meunier returning from yellow card suspension.
Meunier made Danny Rose look foolish here, and the Tottenham full back was hooked at halftime.

Honorable mention: Eden Hazard (Belgium)
Hazard, again, was a joy to watch. What a tournament for the Chelsea attacker, complete with his third goal of the competition.

Villain: Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku (England and Belgium)
Kane’s strange World Cup comes to a close with another poor performance leading the line. After his heroics against Colombia, Kane just disappeared in Russia. He didn’t get many opportunities Saturday, but he certainly didn’t look sharp after being teed up by Raheem Sterling in the 22nd minute, only to wildly slash his attempt wide.
In a match billed as the battle for the Golden Boot, many wanted to see Romelu Lukaku catch Kane. And the Belgian certainly could’ve pulled level, but he twice wasted perfect deliveries from Kevin De Bruyne with a couple of really, really poor touches.
WHAT KIND OF TOUCH IS THAT FROM LUKAKU AFTER GETTING A PERFECT PASS????!!!! AWFUL. DISEASE. pic.twitter.com/nYAYR5XYGZ

Honorable mention: JP Dellacamera (Fox)
I’m sorry but for a third place game, Dellacamera’s hype was just too much.
*Fabian Delph receives a pass near midfield*
“HE’LL HOLD THERE!!!!…LOO KA KU PRESSURING!!!…DELPH HOLDING!!!”
*Ball is passed backwards to Harry Maguire*
“ENGLAND WITH POSSESSION!!”
