Gotham FC’s insane free agency moves could see multiple USWNT stars join team next season

Gotham FC are the talk of NWSL free agency as the reigning league champs are in advanced talks with multiple big names. This latest era of Gotham FC free agency could be one for the books.

No free agents have officially signed yet, but the Bats are in contact with the likes of Rose Lavelle, Emily Sonnett, Crystal Dunn and Tierna Davidson.

Gotham FC free agency targets

Lavelle and Sonnett’s contracts with OL Reign ended after falling to Gotham in the 2023 NWSL Championship. The USWNT pair could we switching from the west coast to the east coast as talks with Gotham continue.

In defense Gotham FC are in search of a replacement after USWNT legend Ali Krieger hung up her boots. The club seek another national team star in Davidson who is a free agent following the 2023 season with the Chicago Red Stars.

The 25-year-old center back missed the majority of the 2022 season with an ACL injury but came back strong with 18 appearances in the 2023 season for the Red Stars. She also made her return to the USWNT this year.

Davidson was part of the USWNT squad that lifted the 2019 Women’s World Cup but was left off the 2023 Women’s World Cup roster.

The other big name that could land with Gotham is USWNT stalwart Dunn. She’s now a free agent after spending the last three years with the Portland Thorns. Gotham are in the mix to sign her with competition from the Washington Spirit.

The idea of Gotham landing all these stars has created a serious buzz with fans.
