Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez didn’t have the best debut as France Football and Le-Equipe’s world’s best goalkeeper and his mistake against Nottingham Forest this Sunday didn't exactly show his world-class skills.

Villa’s seven-game unbeaten streak in the league against Nottingham Forest’s six-game winless streak pretty much summed up the odds of this matchup.
However, a lackluster and unrecognizable performance from Unai Emery’s men, lead by an embarrassing goalkeeping fail from Dibu Martinez, sealed The Villans’ unfortunate fate.
Dibu Martinez fail vs. Nottingham Forest
This was… bad.
In the 47th minute of the game and just two minutes after the second half kicked off, a strike by Orel Mangala — originally saved by Martínez but parried an awful clearance away from goal — bounced behind the Argentine’s head, eventually going inside the three posts and turning into one of the biggest goalkeeping fails we’ve seen this season.
Yikes.
The World Cup champion’s mistake doubled The Reds’ lead and sealed their 2-0 victory.
It's important to remember that it was only last Monday when Martínez was controversially crowned as the winner of the Yachine Trophy (an award given to the best performing goalkeeper) in the Ballon d’Or ceremony for his performances throughout all of the 2022-23 season. More specifically in the 2022 World Cup.
