Commemorating a special occasion, or your fondness for your loved ones, by getting a tattoo is nothing new. The decision to do so may often be misguided and influenced by alcohol or whatever drug the kids are doing these days, but the sentiment is there, and that makes it all right (right?).
Or you could be Diego Maradona, and get “perra” tattooed onto your chest, which is definitely not all right.
We are not sure what kind of sentiment motivated Diego Maradona to get “perra,” Spanish slang for “b*tch,” tattooed on his chest, but we are willing to bet it that it came from the same pool of emotion that motivated him to beat his girlfriend.
What makes this all the stranger is that the tattoo is meant to honor that very same girlfriend, as in the one he hit, as in the one who broke up with him for hitting her.
We want to say that you couldn’t make this stuff up, but that would be giving Maradona far too much credit.
Of course, the two are now back together, hence the tattoo, but that really doesn’t make any of this easier to swallow. Honestly, who is the bigger idiot? Maradona, for thinking that he is honoring his girlfriend by getting the word “b*tch” tattooed onto his chest? Or his girlfriend, Rocio Oliva, for getting back together with him in the first place?
If we were betting men, we would go for the push.
