Chicharito Continues His Unstoppable Goal-Scoring Run

What can you say about the little pea that hasn't already been said? Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez scored his 17th goal in his last 14 games — he has 19 total this season — to give Bayer Leverkusen a 1-0 win over FC Ingolstadt 04 Saturday.

And it was a beauty. Hernandez timed his run perfectly and finished cleanly, two talents that he has shown throughout his career.

Seriously, though, what can we say about Chicharito right now that he isn't already saying with his play? He already has more goals this season than he had in his last two seasons combined, and the season isn't even half-over yet.

Hernandez may not score a ton of amazing goals a la Neymar and Messi, but he has shown throughout his career an uncanny ability to put the ball in the back of the net, and that's really what you need from a striker.

Meanwhile, in Manchester, Louis van Gaal, the manager who froze Hernandez out at Manchester United — loaning him to Real Madrid then selling him to Bayer Leverkusen — is on the hot seat. Word on the street is van Gaal is toast if he loses another game.

Poetic justice, thy name is Chicharito.
