Racing Louisville FC finally got to play a full 90 minutes of action against the University of Louisville, and Racing is definitely ready to compete in the NWSL.
The 2021 NWSL expansion team defeated the college side 4-0 as former Houston Dash forward Cece Kizer led Racing with a hat-trick to help solidify the win. As Racing has only been competing in practice, it was about time they got to play in a real scrimmage to get used to one another and improve their team chemistry.
Not only was this great for Racing Louisville, it was also an opportunity for the University of Louisville to get back into play before the spring season. Although they got shut out, they competed against the best of the best.
This was just a friendly scrimmage, but for Racing's fifth round draft pick Emina Ekic it was more than just another match. The 2020 ACC Player of the Year got to face her alma mater and compete in her first professional game. She reunited with her teammates and coaches from the University of Louisville and definitely could not have started her professional career any better way — not to mention she also started her first pr game!
A special one for @emina_ekic10
