Following Match Day 7 of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, Chelsea remains at the top of the table after a 6-0 hammering of Birmingham City on Sunday. The star of the show for the Blues was Bethany England, who scored a brace to move to the top of the goalscoring charts with four goals so far.
Chelsea’s strike force will be greatly enhanced in January following the much-anticipated arrival of Australia captain Sam Kerr, but the team certainly isn’t struggling for goals this campaign — its total of 18 goals is the division’s best return.
The pick of the bunch from yesterday’s match was the third that Chelsea scored, arriving just before the halftime whistle at Damson Park in the West Midlands.
From a few yards inside her own half, Chelsea and England defender Millie Bright spotted the run of Bethany England between the center back and right back. Bright laced a diagonal ball that fell right onto the foot of her international teammate.
From there, England’s first touch was preposterously good, and her second touch found the back of the net.

Bright scored the game’s second goal in the 37th minute after a rampaging run from her center back position. That one’s worth a watch too.
